Byemoor has managed to survive but not without a struggle. At its peak, it had a population of 150. Its beginning was in 1924 and almost immediately began to accumulating businesses and buildings. By 1926 it had two general stores, a hardware store, a barbershop, two restaurants, a lumberyard, a blacksmith shop, two grain elevators, a harness and boot repair shop, dance hall, hotel, and even a hospital. In time, Byemoor lost two-thirds of its population and well over half its business establishments. But all is not lost. Byemoor lies in the heart of what is a “hunter’s paradise” due to the numerous lakes interspersed through the prairie parkland. It could bring both fishing enthusiasts and nature lovers to the area as well as ghost towners visiting the district.
