The next village north of Cessford is Pollockville named after a Robert Pollock, one of the town’s original settlers. Soon the town had several general stores, butcher shop, two restaurants two livery barns, two barbershops, a lumberyard, an insurance office, a poolroom, two banks, and a community hall. Its population peaked at about 250 but is now down to around 50. It still has a general store, a post office, curling rink, and dance hall for the remaining residents. H.B. Chenoweth |
