Well I dont know a whole lot but I will recomend a great book called The Town That Got Lost. It tells the history about how the town boomed and fell. Anyox opened in 1912 and because copper disposites were discovered and a copper mine and smelter opened up. Its population at its peak was 2500 to 3000 and when the mine closed in 1936 the population dwendled to a few. In 1939 the post office closed and by 1940 it was abandoned. There was a horrible forest fire after the town was abandon and distroyed most of the ruins there. Submitted by: Matthew Bossons |
