There are no residents in Rockington but there are some ruins. You can take the trains Canada Hwy and make a left toward Sydney.U will see an path way leading to the town. REMAINS: There are some remains of a house, a mill and a dock |
Rockington was founded by a man named Benjamin Grant in the late 1700's. It quickly grew up to be a fishing community. In 1829 the population of the town was 200. In 1834 a hotel was built to acommudate the traviling fisher men but was destory in a fire in 1859 and that the town never recovere. Sadly Rockington was abandoned in 1861.
