COMMENTS:
Hwy 540 west of wesr bay drive 6km west to a sharp bend and a cluster of homes this is bowser's corner, continue 1km north on hwy 540 and see the remains of the hamlet, amongst former fields. REMAINS: A hall, a school, and the site of a former methodist church is all that remains of the small pioneering settlement |
Land was settled here since 1890's and gradually grew to its climax around 1916. A church was erected around 1913, and a school followed as well, a hall was built, and farms scatterd the horizonz while a few clustered around the church. It simply dwindled to nothing by the 1990's. The church burnt down in the 70's. Submitted by: Yvan P.Charbonneau |
