All I know of this town is that I have passed by it, and a worn down sign spelling out Duncrief. It is located North East Of London, Ontario, roads are not suitable to travel on, recommend 4wd. 30 mins drive. Used to be a farming community, with saw mill, convience store and such. No train tracks run past it, or main highways. Submitted by: Daniel Ho

Duncrieff lived for 75 years, from 1835 to 1910. It died for lack of water and from too much water. Time has all but erased any evidence that the town ever existed. But exist it did as a small farming community for early pioneers. Principally a forested area, farmers cleared the area of trees, which absorbed the water from the melting winter snows. Without trees, the water flowed down the bare slopes overflowing the creek beds. With a declining high level water table, the creek beds, in time, ran dry. Without sufficient water to power the mills, which were the lifeblood of the community, Duncrieff passed into oblivion. Submitted by Henry Chenoweth.
