| A Post office was opened in 1925 by a Mr Glodthorpe who owned a store near the Alschabach Mine. Numerous gold deposits in the area also encouraged many small gold mines to appear from the 1920's onward (A-Nations, Kirkland-Consolidated Gold Mine, or the Grenfell-Kirkland Gold Mine. The community also contained a school, homes, a sawmill, and bukhouses. Alas it disappeared by the 1950's, the P.O. closed in 1941. Submitted by: Yvan P.Charbonneau |
