Nephton was a thriving mining community in the mid 1900s with a library, store, school and homes. The local Nephton Mine was opened in 1935 where nepheline syenite was mined from the Blue Mountain area. The mine is still open but the village was demolished by the 1990s. Submitted by: Clayton Self
