REMAINS: The former Parker hotel still stands along with several other original buildings. The former school has been converted to a private residence.
Along the Elora-Saugeen road were a number of stopping places and mill towns of which Parker was one. Settlers began to move along the road in the early 1850s and Parker’s first hotel dates from that time. Parker began to attract a few businesses when its post office opened in 1865. The village never grew to the size of neighboring towns and soon faded.
