REMAINS: All has vanished with the exception of the cemetery that tells the story of pioneer hardship when child mortality was high. The cemetery displays many stones that depict the tragic deaths of young children, some only days old, a testimony to the hardships faced by residents of this long-gone mill village.
Only the cemetery, named Sunshine Corners, identifies where the hamlet once was home to a small number of inhabitants. Located along the banks of the Maitland River were a sawmill, a blacksmith shop, a general store, and a Methodist church with a small cemetery beside it.
