COMMENTS: REMAINS: All traces of the early mills have vanished, however, the school and the village cemetery still exist.

Never more than one sawmill, two gristmills, two hotels, a blacksmith shop, a monument manufacturer, a church and several houses along Thirty Mile Creek, the village became a ghost town before its time. Again, the railroad doomed its future when the tracks favored the town of Beamsville, a short distance to the north.
