| A rarity is a ghost town of Indian origin. Such is the village of Tophet. Along the CPR track lies a row of small white frame homes once occupied Cree Indians. During the 1960s, their employer, a vegetable parchment company, ceased operations forcing a move to a new location. The twenty-five homes were abandoned and the group moved to new homes in the Duck Lake Reserve on highway 101. Submitted by: Henry Chenoweth |
