By canoe, long arduous trek involved. at the Mouth of the Moose River (Riviere a l'Orignale) REMAINS: Unknown, possibly nothing, but a small overgrown cemetary |
A small native village containing 10 families or so. Established around the 1880's it possibly contained upwards of 60 residents at its peak. Most were engaged in trapping, and some lumbering. The community contained a trading post, and mission, and as many as fifteen dwellings. The village was entirely wiped out by the influenza epidemic of 1818. Submitted by: Yvan P.Charbonneau |
