CLUE Centraly located. This place was named
to the National Historic Registry in Oct. 1997. It was called Provine
because there were 3 thriving businesses at this intersection during
the days of Route 66. There was Hamons Court that still standing, Kirk's
Texaco that was torn down to build I-40, and the Hilltop Cafe. Route
66 travelers had many options at this site with 3 brands of gas, 2 motels,
a great place to eat, and the Hamons' farm animals that usually ran
loose and begged tourist for candy.
