Death of a Montana Ghost Town? The death of historic Southern Cross has begun. The mining company will cut the trees this year, later to replace the tiny town with a gold mine or a subdivision. It started in March when most of the close-knit community of residents who have lived in Southern Cross for up to 40 years got eviction notices. The company gave them two months to find new places to live, and to remove, demolish or forfeit their homes. The situation remains in limbo. Without your help, the historic ghost town of Southern Cross, Montana could soon be unnecessarily destroyed!
