COMMENTS: I know this is vague. I read about this town in Treasure Hunters Manual #6 by Karl von Mueller, written in 1961, rev.ed. 1979. His directions to the town are 4 miles off Hwy 69 south of Prescott. "Arizona Place Names" by Barnes lists the town as being 35 miles SE of Prescott on the Middleton lines.
REMAINS: Unknown.

"Ruins of the old Bluebell mine and tramway are visable. Nearby copper and silver smeltery is in
ruins. A few residents remain." Submitted by Andrew

This town was located south west of Mayer Arizona about 2 miles north-east as the crow flies from Desoto. In 1981 one could drive the old railroad grade to Cortez on the way to Middleton and Crown King. The Bluebell mine had an aerial tram to Mayer were the rail cars were loaded for shipment to the concentrator at Humboldt.
The pumps were pulled in the early 1930's as the price of copper dropped. The mine manager George Colvacorres went on to try to drill for meteor remains near Winslow. - Sandra Proudfoot
