Hawkins is a Santa Fe, Prescott and Phoenix siding The route known as the Peavine. It was probably named after one of 2 people. Either a Tim Hawkins, the person to drive the first spike on the P & AC (Prescott and Arizona
Central Railroad) or a Judge John J. Hawkins who was one of the partners that founded the Bank of Arizona. Which was first established in Prescott and, was instrumental in
financing the SF & PP Railroad From Railroads of Arizona, Vol.5 by David F. Myrick.
