Hawkins is a Santa Fe, Prescott and Phoenix siding The route known as the
Peavine. It was probably named after one of 2 people. Either a Tim Hawkins,
the person to drive the first spike on the P & AC (Prescott and Arizona Central Railroad) or a Judge John J. Hawkins who was one of the partners that founded the Bank of Arizona. Which was first established in Prescott and, was instrumental in financing the SF & PP Railroad From Railroads of Arizona, Vol.5 by David F. Myrick. Submitted by Paul S. Hodson |
