RICHINBAR

NAME: Richinbar
COUNTY: Yavapai
ROADS: 4WD
LEGAL INFO: T10N, R2E
CLIMATE: Mild winter, warm summer
BEST TIME TO VISIT: Anytime
COMMENTS: Most ghost town books indicate only fifty people lived here but the extensive remnants suggest otherwise. There are many open mines to be very careful around!
REMAINS: Extensive foundations and rubble, mines, mill equipment.

Richinbar's post office was established July 30, 1896 and was discontinued March 15, 1912. Richinbar was a gold mining town at which the Duquesne and Kentucky Standard Mining companies operated. Not much is written about the history of Richinbar but it is well worth visiting. Water for operations was piped in from the Agua Fria river in the canyon below and stored on top of a hill in what looks today like a giant swimming pool. The canyon side served as the trash dump and is littered with porcelain dishes and cups. Well worth visiting.
