The city of Carnegie lasted from 1895-1912.It had a population of 3500 people. It was also the site of the Carnegie Brick and Pottery Company. The town had numerous single-family dwellings, there were two large bunk houses with over one hundred rooms each, occupied mainly by Italian workers.Across from these was Tom Graner's Carnegie Hotel.Nearby were a bakery,Carnegie Livery Stable,Tom Collin's Saloon, the company store, post office and a bandstand. The town died from lack of money in 1912.
