COMMENTS: No current residents.The site is located on State Highway 49,1.4 miles South of Mokelumne Hill.
REMAINS: One stone building and piles of mining tailing.
The camp was founded by miners from Chile in 1848.It was the site of the Chilean War.A post office was established at the camp on October 10,1857.In 1869,a ten-stamp mill was in operation at Chili Gulch.The camp died when the gold gave out.Today only piles of rock and one stone building are all thats left of the mining camp of Chili Gulch.
