I see very little seems to be known about Dedrick.  When I was a young lad growing up in Weaverville I had occassion to go fishing in Canyon Creek that runs by Dedrick.  I cannot remember the year, sometime in the fifties, nineteen, that is, I remember the old shack that housed a bar.  I remember going in with the adults and having a soda while they had a beer.  There was also an old house nearby in a small apple orchard.  Within a few years after the bar closed and I believe the building was taken down as was the old house.  Many years later, after moving from Weaverville, my brother and I would fish Canyon Creek at the end of the road.  It is my understanding that Dedrick was quite a going concern during the gold mining days.  There it is, for whatever it is worth to you.
