On a dirt road off of Highway 162east of Oroville lies the abandoned camp of Forbestown, started by B. F. Forbes in 1850. Today, the town is marked by rock foundations, wooden and stone walls, and a few old buildings�one claimed as the oldest Masonic Hall in California (1850s).
