NAME: Genessee COUNTY: Plumas ROADS: 2WD GRID #(see map): 1 CLIMATE: Snow in winter, hot in summer. BEST TIME TO VISIT:Summer, spring, winter if roads are cleared. |
COMMENTS: there
are currently residents there, very few though. There is an operable store,
a few barns and houses, lots of building remnants surrounding area. Town
is from the early mining days, 1800's. Gennessee, CA Occupied neighborhood,
three barns and corrals falling down, the rest is maintained. 2WD paved
roads, little to see of interest beyond the barns. Perhaps this should not
be considered a ghost town? (visited 12/28/2000) REMAINS: Some buildings, residential and commercial, lots of building foundations, old dumpsites, etc. |
2 lane paved road leading to it. Get there by going "through" Taylorsville, (another ghost town). There are "some" residents, only a few. Submitted by: Tim Wilkinson |
