COMMENTS: Lookout is located on a mountain top on the west side of the Panamint valley. It consists of mostly foundations but a few buildings still have the walls standing. It is definitely for the purist only. It takes a 4 wheel drive vehicle to reach the site. Great view from the top.
REMAINS: Foundations and a few walls

The camp of Lookout was founded in 1875. A pack trail connected it with the neighboring Modoc and Minnietta mines. The Modoc was owned by senator George Hearst, father of William Randolph Hurst. Submitted by Rob Julty.
