COMMENTS: Near Yuma REMAINS: Lots of potholes and a cemetery that was moved due to the building of the All-American canal.

Potholes was a placer mining area. No substantial amount of Gold was every found here. What is evident by the numerous 2 to 10 feet holes that pepper the landscape which is where the town got its name. At one time the town had a population between 400 and 500.
