COMMENTS: Right on the paved highway, semi-ghost REMAINS: Many original buildings, most occupied.

Hesperus was mainly a coal mining town. John A. Porter started the Hesperus Coal company in 1882. the Rio Grand and Southern Railroad had a stop here and named it Hesperus for nearby Hesperus peak.
