COMMENTS: From Fairplay, Co take US – 285 south 0.4 mile turn right on Platte Dr go 0.2 mile bear left on Thompson Park Rd. Go 5.7 miles bear right on NF-18 then go 3.0 miles. REMAINS: A mill, mines throughout the area, cabins and a few tram supports |
Leavick was est. in 1873. There was a post office1896 – 1899. At the mill it served the Hilltop and Last chance mines. Leavick was the terminal and also had a 20 car siding for which ore was sent out. Submitted by Jim Montoya |
