This use to be a booming town with boardwalks and roller coasters on the shore and other amusement rides. It was a tourist attraction site with ferries and a good fishing and crabbing community. Everything was destroyed, but the restaurant when a 30 foot wave took everything out. This tidal wave happened in the early 1900's.
