Named after the industrial area of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, this town was known mainly for phosphate mining. It had a spur of the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad that was used for transporting phosphates and cattle. It had a post office from at least 1897 to 1903, though exact dates and information are scarce. Once the phosphate supply was mined out the rail-spur was abandoned. What remains of the town now sits inside a large orange grove.
