In the 1930's a gentleman by the name of George End moved from Arcadia and started a Rattlesnake canning business in what he called the town of Rattlesnake. He was granted a town and a Post Office. He had a snake pit attraction, general store, post office, and a cannery for Rattlesnake meat. he died from the bite of one of his own rattlesnakes. Although it was annexed to Tampa in the 50's the name still appears on some sectional maps. Submitted by: Mike Woodfin
