COMMENTS: On the eastern tip of the island.
REMAINS: A few ruins among newer homes.
Halawa was a taro farming community that died in 1946 when a 36' tsunami washed it from the map.


This is the ruins of the Halawa Congregational Church destroyed by the tidal wave. It was the first church on the island built in 1852.
