NAME: Zenorsville COUNTY: Boone ROADS: 2WD GRID: 5 CLIMATE: Hot summer, cold winter BEST TIME TO VISIT: Spring or fall. |
COMMENTS:
Zenorsville is located west of Gilbert, just over the Boone/Story county line. To get there, take U.S. Hwy 69 to Gilbert, and turn onto the road that goes into town (E-23.) Go through Gilbert, and keep on this road until it junctions with R-38 at the county line. Go straight, and the road will turn to well maintained gravel. The road will dip down into a valley, and will come back up a steep hill. At the top, there will be an intersection of two gravel roads. This is Zenorsville. REMAINS: Little to none. |
I have heard that this was a small mining town. I have not been able to find much history on it, and that is the only fact I really know about the town. Worth a visit only if you don't mind ghost towns with little to no remains. Submitted by: Lara Cady |
