COMMENTS: I don't know a whole lot about this town, but it's about 2-3 miles south of Madrid, Iowa on Highway 17. Easy to find as it's on the west side of the road. REMAINS: A few homes and a sign

As I said, I don't know a whole lot about this town. Like a lot of other small towns in the area it was a coal mining town and I believe it had 500 to a thousand residents in its prime (I've even heard of people saying it had up to 5,000). Submitted by: Jason Benson
