COMMENTS: Semi-Ghost, downtown is the abandoned part of the area. People still live here, with some modern houses. The downtown is a great site. REMAINS: downtown, railroad bridge, may modern buildings.

Cairo is located at the confluence of the Ohio and Mississippi rivers, in extreme southern Illinois. It was a major port, but with the decline of river trade, Cairo also declined. Submitted by: Max B.
