Take the first left turn after the Saline River bridge. Old Evansville started in the 1920's as a home for the coal miners for the local mines locateda little east of present day Equality. Old evansville is at the three way road 1/4 of a mile from Jones lake road. From the three way crossing, it ran north to the Saline River.
REMAINS: Only one house from the old town remains. It was remodeled about fifteen years ago
Old Evansville was mainly a small town of coal miners working the numerous small coal strip mines located throughout the hills scattered around the presentday Equality. Many coins and metal objects can be found in the present crop fields on both sides of the short dead end road leading to the old bridge site. Submitted by: Jerry (Bandit)Patton
