Tippecanoe was the Capitol of the Shawnee and several other tribes, who joined togehter to form a Federated tribe led by amongst other Tecumseh who objected to the purchase treaty, which bought 2,900,000 acres for the United States. Using british guns to defend themselves the Federation lost the battle for their Capitol Tippecanoe, against the United States led by William Henry Harrison future President of the United States. This Brought about the slogan Tippecanoe and Tyler to. The Battle of Tippecanoe was fought in 1811 it destroyed the Capitol city, and broke apart the federation. Submitted by: Michael Depolo |
