There are still people living in Doniphan, but almost all of the old town-site buildings are gone. You might all the Doniphan Heritage Vineyards (in care of Robert Nourie) prior to visiting for more historical information. REMAINS: St. John's Catholic Church, Brenner winery |
The land office was once here, and it was a busy town. In the 1800s, town lots were selling for $1500. The Catholic church, St. John's, is still there. The remains of the Brenner winery are also to be located. President Lincoln visited here in the early 1860s. Submitted by: Theresa Root |
