5 miles east and 2 miles south of Jewell Ks. on the north bank of Buffalo Creek. Population is around 50. REMAINS: Empty buildings on Main St., Two city parks. |
Town was founded in the mid 1800's. This is an old farm town. The Co-Op is still in use. There is an old School that is still in use. Many empty houses and lots. There is an old cemetary about a 1/4 mile outside of town on the north west end. The town had two churches but, one burnt down a number of years ago. The church bell still stands in this empty lot.
