COMMENTS:
Northeast Part of Calloway County REMAINS: None |
Established about 1837on Tennesse River by Isham Charles Wells and others. Had a ferry landing and was involved in Tennessee River commerce. The town began to shrink by 1850 and was gone by 1870. The TVA Kentucky Lake Project in the 1930's flooded the land where Calloway Town once stood, thereby destroying the few vestiges remaining of the once lively town. Submitted by: Bill Utterback |
