Once a coal drop off point for the Lousville and Nashville railroads, the old town of Rocky Hill Kentucky was once a thriving town with a population in the thousands, it had two hotels, a livery stable, a general store,a train station, and a bank. Half of the town was destroyed in the 1930's by fire, the residents of the town moved away and even though the town was rebuilt the residents never returned and the railroad stopped dropping off coal.
