COMMENTS: 5.5 miles of stephenson, michigan on hwy g-12 near the intersection of palmer road and g-12. REMAINS: Former standard & narrow gauge railroad bed, one room school and several farms.

Longrie was a small rural settlement adjacent to the Wis/Mich railroad track. A rail siding provided for loading lumber. Established at the turn of the century. At one time there was a lumber mill, potato warehouse, cedar yard, school house, general store/rail station, blacksmith shop and adjacent farms. Submitted by: Tom Ahrens
