COMMENTS:
It is unknown wether Salo is populated or not. Salo is roughly 8 miles north of Houghton, near Boston. Once at Boston, you will be sure to meet a sign which points to Salo. Boston is located on Boston Road, off U.S. 41. REMAINS: Unknown. |
Salo was a farming community, settled by former European Miners who dreamed of a better life as farmers. Once home to many large families, Salo was a place were children grew up, and were the elderly passed away. Salo was very important to those who lived there. It'd be great if someone would visit the area to learn more. Submitted by: Ryan J. Hill | SALO TWP-HALL 1905 Courtesy Renee Schott |
