COMMENTS: Oscar is located on state 137 approx. 6 miles north of Raymondville. It had a rather large store for the area, that operated until the late 70's. The building is now the home of an Amish family. This area was, and still is a farming community. REMAINS: Old store building, that is now an Amish home. Also a sawmill that is operated by the amish. Several farms that still operate in the community.

Oscar store was one of the major merchants in rural area of south central Texas county during the early till mid-1900's. It was also a feed supply store, as well as providing most needs for area residents. Submitted by: J.D. Scantlin
