One of the added benefits of a visit to Granite is the view. Located so close to the top of a mountain, the view is somewhat spectacular. Gemstones were the source of Granite's riches. Sapphires and other gems were first discovered in 1892 and are still being found as they were over a hundred years ago. Some original buildings still stand including the vault of the bank in Granite.
