COMMENTS: Rockvale is located 13 miles south of Laurel and I-90. It is at the junction of 310 and 212. A cafe, casino, bar and souvenier shop, called Fort Rockvale is located there. Fort Rockvale gets business from tourists and skiers going to and from Red Lodge resort, tourists from Yellowstone Park and shoppers from Wyoming. REMAINS: There are a handful of homes.

A post office existed at Rockvale from 1894 to 1914. The name evolved naturally from its location in the Rock Creek Valley and near Rock Creek. Submitted by: Norma Jean Anderson
