COMMENTS:
A couple or three families still live there. My great-grandfather Andreas Krause homesteaded there in the 1880s. He came from Bessarabia (a former German colony bordering on the Black Sea). A grandson farmed there (near Bently) for many years before he moved to Arizona, where he passed away. I am descendant of the first gent named above - - a great-great grandson. My father emigrated to Mott from N. Germany, where I spent my teen years there. I lived in Japan for 40 years and now live in Germany, near Stuttgart, where my ancestors (my previous 7th generation) emigrated from to Poland - - and from there to Bessarabia. REMAINS: Several old homes and old commercial - - and several modern homes |
A typical old farming community. Submitted by: Siegfried Trautwein |
