COMMENTS:
Krider is an unincorporated community in Gage County, Nebraska near the Nebraska/Kansas border. Krider was a station on the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad. REMAINS: State sign is all that remains |
The remaining site is moreso known to the local community as Krider Hill. Take Highway 77 South of Beatrice to Highway 112. This beautiful highway to Odell, Nebraska was once part of the Oto Indian Reservation. Cross the railroad tracks and proceed up the hills to enjoy the scenic view year round. Legend has it that Krider Hill is the burial site for an Oto High Chief. The Oto resided in the area for many unknown years. The Oto tribe gave the state it's name, but they were not native to the region. "Nebraska" is an Oto word that means "flat water." Submitted by: Maurice Vonasek |
