St. Deroin was founded in 1854 by joseph deroin, an indian trader. A post office was established there in 1861 and closed in 1910. It was an important steamboat landing on the missouri river that had a promising future. Then the railroads missed it and the missouri began to eat away at the town site itself. By 1920 st. Deroin was a ghost town. Submitted by: Kieth buss |
