COMMENTS:
Located in Mullica Township, behind the athletic field. Amatol was a munitions plant during World War I. A small town was contructed to house the plant workers and families. At one point the population of Amatol was around 5,000 inhabitants. The town had everything from schools to theaters. The street layout is still visible. REMAINS: Sandy street remains, cellers, brick and morter foundations. |
