COMMENTS: Cantara. 30 miles west of clovis and just south of krider. Sorry. No residents. Only memoriesremain. The name has a nice name to it. Too bad it didn't make it. If you make it this far, about the only thing you can do is get out and stretch and look at the beargrass. REMAINS: Nada (spanish for no thhing)

Cantara. Spanish "pitcher". Post office was established may 1, 1908 and bit the dust on september 30, 1912. Never was much of a settlement according to myreference "roosevelt county history and heritage". No information is given on the first postmaster. Submitted by: Samuel W McWhorter
